Welcome!
Jenn Nelson
I have been working with youth, adults, couples and families for over 20 years providing counseling and psychotherapy, both individually and in groups. I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling and Spirituality (M.A.) and I have extensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Post Traumatic Stress and Addictions. I have further developed my training with extensive readings, numerous professional workshops and supervised practice. The training, education and supervision I have acquired allows me to provide safe and effective psychotherapy and meet the professional and ethical standards set out by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). In addition, I am an experienced supervisor who has met the qualifications required by CRPO . I have over a decade of experience providing clinical supervision.
Depending on your unique needs, we can explore many techniques and interventions in our work together. Sessions offer practical strategies and tools. These include worksheets, homework suggestions, photo voice (using photography), art directives, experiential therapy exercises, psychodrama, mindfulness, creative journaling and referrals to books or pod casts, to name a few. I am very comfortable working with the diversity of sexual experiences. I have had the honor of working with and learning from many individuals, from various cultural backgrounds, socio-economic experiences, mental health concerns, gender diversity and sexual orientations.
